Tips of the Month: 11 Steps to release power with motion

Example: Apply your particles to cool motion

Note. The position of particles will be placed in “Accessory/Prop” in iClone 1.52, as to iClone 2.0 and above, there will be a new category of panel for them.

    1. Select an appropriate Avatar in iClone

    2. Switch to “Animation / motion” and select the according motion

In this case, we would like to let the sorceress raise her left hand,
draw circles and release particles after turnaround.

    3. The details of the geste is also important when releasing powers, there, switch to “Animation / hands / Modify” and open “Timeline”.

    4. Right click the track of “Left Hand” and select the geste what you prefer to in Timeline.

    5. And then, we need attach the particle (fire) to the finger of left hand and make residual images while she draw the circles. Switch to “Avatar / Accessories / Template” and find “Magic_Fire” of “Effect Pack / Magic effect”. Now, you can click “play” to see different effects?

    6. Switch to “Scene / Props / Template” and add “Magic_ Spark” of “Pack / Magic effect”.

    7. And the position of “Magic_ Spark” will be unanticipated (that’s because the particles are put under the category of “props” in iClone 1.52), therefore, we should set key to offer moving path for the particle by Timeline.

    8. Switch to “Modify” of “Prop” (iClone 1.52) and open Timeline.

    9. In this case, the “Magic_ Spark” won’t appear in the previous parts of motion, so we need to move it offscreen in the first frame.

    10. The “Magic_ Spark” remains the same position at frame 221 as frame 1, and it shifts to avatar’s finger at frame 222. (We should test the timing to and fro to unleash according to different gestes.)

    11. Finally, set the end key of “Magic_ Spark” for its moving path at frame 290, and click “play” to see the result of particles in Real Time.
